The Holidays Are Officially Here And So Are TONS of Catalogs

by Ed Santandrea

Holiday CatalogsThe leaves have fallen, holiday music fills the stores and catalogs fill our mailboxes, kitchen counters and recycle containers.    Many of us now shop online and receive newsletters and discount codes from our favorite stores through email so why not stop the paper catalog?  In doing so you’ll lighten the load on the mail carrier, reduce clutter and be good to the environment too.

Here are three good options to reduce this holiday clutter.

1) Convert catalogs you like to email.  You’ll likely get better last minute offers too!  Simply call when you have the catalog handy or on your next order as they will need codes off your catalog.

2) Stop catalogs you don’t like. Simply collect your unwanted catalogs, log into Catalog Choice  and fill in some information for each catalog.  One site – done!

3) Prevent catalogs in the future at DMA Choice .  Get this…. you have to PAY the Direct Marketing Association $1.00 so that they can register you for 5 years on the Do Not Solicit list.  While I don’t appreciate having to pay to tell someone not to waste their money mailing me a catalog I don’t want,  I do see the bigger picture.  In the end I’ll receive less catalogs for less then the price of one cup of  cheap coffee!  Buy the way, DMA Choice offers an option to opt out of commercial email lists too.

So I hope you will consider making this holiday season a littler greener and Convert, Stop & Prevent.
