Town Rebate Programs and Stimulus Grants
Check with your town hall to see if they are offering any additional rebates or incentive programs. Towns like Fairfield have programs made possible through stimulus grant money. Other towns may offer their own programs.
Example: Fairfield is currently offering a program using funds from the EECBG – along with other like programs with rebates for boilers, etc. Fairfield is offering a reimbursement program that pays back residents and small business owners 50 percent of their cost, up to a maximum of $200 per household or business, for a number of things, including a home energy audit, HES/small business audit, Energy Star appliances, power strips, caulking and weather stripping, compact fluorescent light bulbs, motion sensors for outdoor lighting, low flow shower heads and insulation for water heater or water pipes. The allocation of funds will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and will last over an 18-month period. (NOTE: Fairfield residents can apply this rebate to the $75 HES co-pay.)
