If you suspect you have Asbestos in your home, do not break it apart or attempt removal. The best thing to do is leave it alone. If the materials are in good condition it should not release the mineral fibers into the air that can cause illness. To know for sure and especially if the material is showing signs of flaking, consult a properly qualified environmental specialist to assess the material and the resulting health risk, make a recommendation as to what should be done and potentially perform remediation. Document everything in writing and keep these records on file for when it comes time to sell your home.
