Just as Count Dracula preys upon the innocent, Vampire Power, or the energy drawn from items like electronic devices that are plugged in but not in use, drains blood from the energy grid. This is called Vampire Energy and according to igo.com the typical American family spends up to 10% of their energy bill on vampire consumption. They further say that your home entertainment center can easily cost you more than $75 a year when you are not even using it and that the US is wasting 10 billion dollars annually on Vampire Energy. That’s scary.
By reducing vampire energy we put more money in our pockets and reduce CO2 emissions too. As a first course of action you should unplug small kitchen appliances and infrequently used devices like blow dryers and steamers. You could also turn off computers at night.
